Gi.Pi.Ply is an agency that was founded in 1983 thanks to the passion and experience of the founder Piero Giacobbi for exploring new markets and for wood and its applications. After twelve years of experience in the industry, Piero establishes a trust relationship with two plywood producers: Sais Compensati spa in Gattinara, a producer of veneered plywood, and Reni Ettore spa in Volta Mantovana, a producer of poplar plywood. Thanks to the professionalism and reliability of Piero and the represented companies, the most qualified foreign clientele, such as importers, caravan manufacturers, window and doors manufacturers, furniture makers, and shipyards, recognize his strategic suppliers, establishing multi-year collaborative relationships that still endure today.

In the ’80s and ’90s, the relationship between Gi.Pi.Ply, the supply companies, and the customers expanded, primarily in the Northern European markets. In 1997, the founder’s son, Stefano Giacobbi, joined the company, gaining the necessary experience from the supply companies to provide technical and commercial consultancy services to the customers.

The team strengthened, and travels intensified, allowing for a consistent growth in revenue and the consolidation of relationships with customers and client companies. In 2005, Gi.Pi.Ply became Gi.Pi.Plywood and continued to expand in terms of revenue and clientele.

In 2012, Reni Ettore spa was forced to cease its operations due to a very negative market situation, concluding a collaboration of twenty-nine years. In 2015, the collaboration with Panguaneta spa began, a leading company in Europe in the production of poplar plywood, based in Sabbioneta in the province of Mantua. In 2018, Piero Giacobbi decided to retire from the business after forty-eight years of passionate work.

His son Stefano continues the business in the footsteps of his father’s example, with the goal of expanding the workforce and further growing the business to ensure adequate service to both clients and represented companies, while maintaining the company’s values and the human touch that distinguish Gi.Pi.Plywood.
